There are many things to worry about when you’re first starting your business whether it’s a blog, service-based, or other type of business. We’ve all wondered if we picked the right niche or if a business plan is really necessary.
There’s so much you need to learn when first starting a blog or business that you could spend crazy amounts of money trying to learn everything you need to know to be successful.
Introducing the Six Weeks of Free Resources for Your Blog and Business! Over the next six weeks, I’ll be providing tons of free resources for your blog and business. This article is the first of the series and focuses on some great free online courses to help you grow your blog and bring in some moolah!
Many of these courses over-deliver on their promise, and their creators have some other great paid and free courses. So, without further ado, here’s a list of helpful free courses for blog growth.
1. The Blog Plan- Suzi Whitford- Start a Mom Blog
The Blog Plan by Suzi Whitford is an amazing resource. Take it from someone who searched the internet over and over for something that helped with planning blog content—this plan is legit. I felt like I wasn’t quite “getting it.”
I was trying to figure out how other bloggers developed their content based on making money, opt-ins, and other things to consider while also including holiday promotions. For me, the whole marketing aspect was challenging to get used to.
Suzi explained the blogging process thoroughly and presented a plan that I finally understood. Some of the things that you’ll learn include:
- How to establish a solid foundation for your blog
- Discovering the right type of blog for you
- Picking the right name for your blog
- Learning how to make money with your blog
- Gain clarity and ditch the confusion associated with starting a blog
- See a step by step plan for successfully growing your blog
- Learn how to make your blog successful
Suzi has some other great paid courses such as List by Number and Printables by Number, to name a few. I’ve taken both of these classes, and she walks you step by step through growing your list and making printables. Both courses were fun and useful. You get to see her kids sprinkled throughout the videos, and I learned how to make printables with PowerPoint of all programs!
The Blog Plan is perfect if you’re just starting out as a blogger. List By Number and Printables By Number are for people interested in growing their list so it’s great for bloggers of all levels. I love them all and she has others that you can look at over on Start a Mom Blog.
2. Legal Guide for Blogging Legally- Amira- A Self Guru
Amira over at aselfguru.com has an excellent legal guide for bloggers that comes with a fantastic video lesson on blogging legally. Amira is a lawyer by day and blogger by night.
She was truly a miracle for me. That may sound dramatic, but I put off being serious about my blog for almost a YEAR because I was terrified of GDRP. I was so new to blogging, and everything was overwhelming, so I kind of froze.
https://writerslifeforyou.com/legal-bundleI would have just about sold my soul to find an easy way to navigate the legalities of blogging. Enter Amira’s legal template bundle. It saved me weeks of scouring the internet (I know this because I already had) for solutions on how to create the legal pages that were necessary for my blog. I was done with both of my webpages in less than 30 minutes.
I realize that paying for legal templates might be outside the realm of possibility for many people, so Amira’s free legal guide can definitely help you with setting up your blog so that you’re not breaking any laws.
No one wants to pay the ginormous fine that comes with not setting your blog up legally. But if you are ready to invest in your business, these legal templates are totally worth the price considering how much it would cost to hire an attorney to draft them up for you.
3. List Love- Jennifer Maker-jennifermaker.com

Lena Gott’s Free Traffic Bonus Guide is the prequel to her paid class Traffic Transformation: 21 Strategies I used to go from 17K to 400K+ Page Views in 10 Months. The guide explains three good traffic generation tips that aren’t in her paid course. They are considered foundational for strategies that helped Lena grow her blog traffic to increase ad revenue and sponsored opportunities.
Her paid class really helps you reduce the amount of time spend stuck on your computer, working on solutions that don’t increase your blog traffic. Traffic Transformations is essentially her blogging journey in trying to figure out what she was doing wrong and what she could do to fix the problem.
Lena dedicated herself to learn and implement one new thing and change to her blog every day and got some pretty amazing results. Sign up for both classes to kick your blog traffic into high gear.
