What Things Make the Best Presents for Content Creators
As a content creator, we wear many hats:
- CEO
- CMO

- Content Creator
- Product Creator

- Social Media Marketer
- Tech Support
- Web Designer
- And so much more.
The demands only increase the more advanced you become and the more experience you gain. So whether you’re just starting out or have been doing this for years, the best gift ideas for content creators make life and content creation easier.
Today’s content creators create a variety of content, from podcast episodes to live-stream videos to blog posts. So, many gifts fall into these categories, and we’re going to dive into the list now!
The 20+ Best Gifts for Content Creators
Here’s your ultimate gift guide for content creators and creative people so you can find the perfect gift this year.
1. Blogging Planner
When it comes to juggling all the tasks and being organized, a blogging planner is one of the best things you can purchase for yourself or your favorite content creator.
While I love the feel and look of paper planners, sometimes a digital planner like The Blog Boss Management System is the best way to manage ALL THE THINGS. Since there are so many tasks to organize, my friend Leanne Scott’s blogging system provides one central hub for things like:
- Blog posts
- Tracking results
- Planning
- Education
- SEO
- Goal tracking
- Email campaigns
- Networking
- Social media management
- Affiliate program management
- And more!
Leanne has covered it all with 40+ tables that provide a place to plan and track everything.
Even though my project management tool of choice is Trello, I love the functionality of Airtable. It’s a very powerful organizational tool with the simplicity of a spreadsheet yet detailed enough to manage the most complex things.
I’ve even created one of my favorite digital products in it because of the different views and ability to customize everything I need with ease of use.
If you’re old school like me (except when it comes to planners now), the Erin Condren Life Planner is one of the best I’ve used. It has month and week views with plenty of space to write in.
This Erin Condren planner is great for organizing and planning your business and personal life. It comes in a variety of covers, and you can even personalize it, like mine below, with photos of friends and family.
2. Quality Web Camera
I think a good webcam that produces great video quality and great audio quality is essential for content creators, whether you have a YouTube channel or not. I use my Logitech C920e HD webcam for summit presentations, live streams, and other collaborations.
However, if you have an active YouTube channel, a webcam is a must for recording high-quality YouTube videos. Because I don’t have many extra people living with me, I use my webcam’s built-in microphone instead of an external one, but a good external mic is on my Christmas list this year.
Things to look for in a webcam include:
- Image stabilization
- Autofocus
- Frame rate
- Microphone sensitivity
- Resolution
- Great audio and video quality
While this Logitech web camera is amazing, produces high-quality video recordings, and has served me well through all kinds of summit interviews and live streams, there are a few others you may want to look at, including:
- Insta360 Sticker Kit With Webcam – This webcam allows you to control it with three simple gesture controls.
- Logitech Brio 4K Webcam
- Anker PowerConf C200 2K – The best budget webcam
Note: If your favorite creator plans on using a green screen or large green backdrop that allows you to display any background in your pictures or videos, most work well as long as you have proper lighting,
3. Headphones
A good set of headphones is another must-have tool for content creation, especially if you frequently film videos for your YouTube channel or other projects and there is a lot of background noise.
When you’re looking for headphone options, you want to consider these key factors:
- Noise isolation
- Sound quality
- Comfort (huge since you’ll be wearing them a lot)
- Durability
- Compatibility with your tools
If cost is a factor, these are the best wireless earbuds, and these are the best studio headphones.
4. Quality Mic
While a good microphone is a fabulous gift for all content creators, a high-quality mic is necessary for podcasters. Podcasts are still extremely popular and not as expensive or difficult to do as you may think.
Whether you have a podcast or just want a great external mic to record videos and live streams, these mics make some of the best gifts for content creators:
- Audio-Technica AT2040USB – Affordable but with upgraded features for producing high-quality audio.
- Blue Yeti USB Microphone – Very popular and affordable with smart features for podcasting and Zoom meetings, and even perfect if you want to Twitch stream (if you’re like me and had no clue what that was, Twitch is an interactive live-streaming service.)
- Shure MV&+ Podcast Dynamic Microphone – Expensive, but with all the bells and whistles for top-tier audio quality
5. Professional Camera for Original Stock Photos
Photographers aren’t the only people who shoot high-quality images.
Shooting photos can make a great extra income stream if your creative friend wants to sell stock photos. But original pictures are important for blog posts as they show that you actually did or experienced what you’re writing about.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably seen and heard about the devastating effects Google’s major algorithms have had on many bloggers.
Small and big websites alike saw their traffic plummet as Google seemed to favor forums over the great articles we’ve written.
Here’s the thing: Search engines want to see proof that you’re an expert on what you’re writing about.
If you’re a travel blogger writing an article about Tuscany, Italy, you better have been there and taken pictures to prove it.
If you’re doing a gift guide like this, don’t just write about a list of products you have yet to purchase; instead, take some images like I’ve provided in this article. That’s not to say that you can’t write about a gadget you haven’t purchased if you want to buy or have experience with it.
Showing your experience in what you’re writing about has become more critical than ever, meaning you need some type of camera to document life. So whether you’re shooting nature scenes or images for blog posts, here are some great cameras for you or the content creator in your life:
Panasonic LUMIX G7—This camera is less expensive than some but still pricey. However, it is a 4K 16-megapixel mirrorless camera (meaning it doesn’t have a reflex lens or mirror).
Canon EOS Rebel T17 DSLR Kit—This isn’t just the camera; it’s a complete photography kit for the price of some cameras alone. They have a less expensive Canon EOS Rebel Kit with good reviews.
But you may find that you only need your smartphone. My iPhone 15 has an amazing camera that takes great pictures and videos for what I need. Overall, it has great performance and plenty of storage for all the images and videos I create.
But if you’re a food or travel blogger, you’ll want to invest in a good camera, as it can make a world of difference when you shoot content.
If you plan on taking your own pictures, one of the best gift ideas is good photo editing software, such as the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan.
6. Ring Lighting Kit
One of the first things I invested in was a ring light for filming social media videos, presentations, and live streams. A ring light provides more professional lighting than your room lights, and as a content creator, I highly recommend it to your favorite creative.
I currently use this 10.2-inch Selfie Ring LED Light with a mini-tripod and this 10″ Ring Light with 50-inch features like an extendable tripod; a circle LED light, and a phone holder.
This one came with a pocket-sized Bluetooth remote that allows you to take selfies from a distance, but it has not worked for me filming directly in the Instagram or TikTok app.
Either one is a great, inexpensive option, but this ring light also has 12 playful RGB color effect modes, seven kinds of monochromatic modes, and ten brightness levels. Together, they are a cheap lighting kit for everyday content creation.
7. Video Editing Software
You’ll want good editing software if you’re creating content that includes filming videos. My top pick is ScreenPal (formerly Screencast-O-Matic), the screen recorder I have used for years. It makes editing any video easy, which helps when you produce many of them.
ScreenPal is so easy to use, whether you’re brand new to filming videos or experienced. You can even add captions to each recording, film videos in a variety of sizes, add music, and do many other cool things.
You can also use ScreenPal for screenshots, which I do often. Best of all, it only costs $48 a year. Yes, you heard that right—just $48 per year.
8. Post-It Notes
Whether you’re old school or not, Sticky Notes are essential desk accessories for content creators. You can even use them on a wall or whiteboard as a large visual planner or calendar.
I still grab them to jot down notes every day. I use these bright-colored Sticky Notes, but I’ve also used these pastel ones.
9. Whiteboard
When I’m writing this post, I am getting ready to move into a house with a bigger office space, and this whiteboard is on my list of things to get. A whiteboard is a super helpful present if you like seeing your content ideas front and center or creating a sticky calendar or to-do list.
You can even write motivational or inspirational messages or affirmations to help you meet your goals.
A whiteboard is great for planning all your content creation or using it as a presentation tool as well.
10. Large 4K Computer Monitor
This gift guide item is perfect for the content creator who wants a larger, high-resolution monitor for editing or working on projects.
Is it a necessity? Maybe not, but this is definitely on my list of things to give to my family this year because it gives you plenty of room for a split screen, or you can get two if you need more screen space.
This ASUS 28-inch TUF Gaming Computer Monitor is great for gaming and makes a great high-definition first or even second monitor.
This Sceptre 4K monitor is another good option at a lower price.
When you work on content creation full time, a large monitor can make a content creator’s life much easier, and that’s why it made this gift guide. The large 4K screen is also fun for playing video games or streaming videos.
11. Comfy Office Chair
If you sit at your desk all day, you truly understand the importance of being comfortable while working. Unfortunately, not all desk chairs are created equal.
This inexpensive Ticova Ergonomic Office Chair has some great features, such as:
- High back
- Adjustable lumbar support
- headrest
- 130-degree rocking
- Comfortable ergonomic shape
This Branch Daily Computer Office Chair is another great option. It has a lumbar rest, adjustable armrests, and a structure that provides comfortable seating for better posture.
12. Laptop Backpack for Traveling
Whether you’re a digital nomad or content creator working from home, you’ll need to take your laptop with you at some point, and that’s when a nice laptop bag or backpack comes in.
North Face offers sturdy and affordable laptop backpacks starting at around $49. They have extra padding and a comfortable suspension system.
Osprey also offers large backpacks like the Arcane Day Backpack for around $100. They come in a variety of colors and offer support and functionality.
The Ospreys are great choices for traveling to work and school or for digital nomads. They have a padded shoulder strap that makes it easy to carry your laptop in the main compartment and internal organization for smaller items.
Some features you may want to consider when looking at laptop backpacks are:
- A laptop compartment
- Removable dividers
- Adjustable, padded shoulder straps
- Travel-friendly
- Security features
- Laptop computer backpack organizers for your other gear
13. SEO Tools
SEO is essential to content creators, and yes, that’s still true, even with things up in the air due to Google’s algorithm changes. That’s why I added SEO tools to this gift guide.
SEO Content Optimizers
These are all tools that I have used and love!
Surfer SEO
This is my favorite tool for writing and optimizing new and existing blog posts.
I previously used Frase, which is a very good tool, but I compared Surfer SEO and Frase and got much better results than Frase. The kicker is that it is more expensive than Frase, but it has consistently given me an advantage over other tools.
Features include:
- Content Editor for new posts
- Content Audit for optimizing existing posts
- Topic Explorer to see the other keywords you need to write articles for to improve your rankings
- Domain Planner – Connect your account to Google Search Console, see your rankings at a glance, and find new content ideas
- AI Humanizer to analyze your content and humanize it if it sounds like a robot
And so much more!
RankIQ
RankIQ is another tool I tested against Surfer SEO. It is very comparable, plus it’s a little less expensive. However, I don’t like the optimizer’s interface nearly as much as Surfer SEO’s.
But what really makes RankIQ unique is that the creator, Brandon Gaille, has done the keyword research for you and created a massive keyword database on many niches.
So, this can replace your keyword research tool as well. If you sign up and your niche isn’t included, you can fill out a form, and Brandon and his team will add it for you.
Frase
I feel like I was picking on Frase, but it’s really a great tool, especially if you’re on a budget. I love that the interface is as easy to use as Surfer SEO, and it has the best outline creator out of all three tools mentioned here.
It’s very flexible and easy to drop the headings you want to use into the content and then change them (so you aren’t copying someone else).
The content briefs are very helpful, too, and optimizing your content is easy.
In addition to tools for SEO-optimizing your content, every content creator needs a good keyword research tool. My favorite is KeySearch as it is super affordable with plenty of helpful features such as:
- Rank tracking
- Multiple tools for competitive analysis (a great way to find more keywords)
- Content Assistant you can use to SEO optimize posts
- Keyword Explorer
- Keyword Research tools
- Deep Dive for further exploring keywords and topics in-depth
- YouTube keyword tools
And so much more.
Check out KeySearch here and use the code KSDISC to get 20% off for your favorite content creator (that drops it down to under $14 a month).
14. Email Service Provider
Another useful gift for content creators is a month—or year-long subscription to an email service provider for their business. I recommend that anyone running a business work on two things: SEO and their email list.
Unlike social media platforms that can come and go (or worse, your account gets suspended), you own your email list. So, if every social media channel disappeared, they could still make money using email marketing.
Some of the most popular email service providers include:
- Convertkit (soon-to-be Kit) – This is my top recommendation as they have an amazing reputation, their customer service is awesome, and there are notable features.
- Mailerlite – Mailerlite has the best free plan, which even includes automation.
- Active Campaign
- Keap
15. Project Management Tool
If your content creator doesn’t have a project management tool yet (or maybe they do, and if so, you can pay for their subscription), they need to find one ASAP. My tool of choice is Trello, and it has helped systemize my business so I get a lot more done in less time.
(Also, my business bestie Lucy has taught me how to be even more efficient with Trello. Your creative friend would love this membership to become more efficient.)
When you use a project management tool, you won’t lose information. You can find everything you need fast, and I have found that seconds matter (they add up over time).
My favorite project management tools include:
Trello – The drag-and-drop cards, power-ups, and automation offer maximum flexibility for planning.
ClickUp—If Trello weren’t my tool of choice, I would use ClickUp. It’s very flexible, easy to use, and has many amazing features.
Airtable—As I mentioned above, Airtable is simple, like a spreadsheet, but detailed enough to handle the most complex tasks. My survey and feedback system are all in Airtable.
Notion—Notion is another great tool that works with many neurodivergent people, just not me. But Notion is wildly popular and could be perfect for your favorite online business owner.
All of these are available at an affordable price.
16. Fast Website Theme
Another great addition to this gift guide is a fast website theme. This is important for the user experience and can affect your SEO. A website is a requirement in today’s digital world, and my favorite theme is Astra.
Astra makes it easy to build a website and is super fast. In fact, Astra says the theme was made for speed.
Other great themes are the ones built on the Genesis Framework. I built my writing website using Authority Pro, a Genesis Framework theme, and it’s pretty robust.

17. Grammarly
Content creators write A LOT – everything from website content, blog posts, emails, social media posts, and more. Grammarly was one of the first tools I invested in, as it uses the magic of AI and other innovative technology to edit your content.
Grammarly comes with a browser extension for a few of the most popular ones, such as Google and Firefox. It can check all your online content for grammar and spelling mistakes and provide tips on improving everything you write. I highly recommend it.
18. Smartphone Stand
If the creator in your life films videos on their iPhone or iPad or uses the camera to take pictures, this phone stand makes the perfect present on this gift guide. It’s a great option for birthdays or as a stocking stuffer.
It comes in various colors to complement your office decor, making it easy to watch tutorial videos while working on your computer. This also makes it perfect for your personal life, like viewing recipes when you cook in the kitchen.
If your favorite creative uses their iPhone for business, they can keep this stand right by their desk or where they film their videos for a sturdy platform. Plus, you can’t beat the price.
19. Office Accessories
If the creator in your life loves to organize things in your home office like I do, then you can’t go wrong with office accessories and gear.
This pretty floor cabinet gives them plenty of space for files, office supplies, or other gear.
These pretty rose gold mesh baskets provide organized storage space for paper clips, pens, sticky notes, and other office supplies.
These plastic storage bins can hold art and office supplies if they love bright colors.
Or if your creative likes more natural colors and textures, this boho woven desktop organizer is perfect for holding letters, pins, and other desk accessories.
20. Video Backdrop
Most content creators film videos, do live streams, or network on Zoom with other business owners, so a video backdrop makes a nice gift.
You can get them something simple like these black and white backdrops or this green screen background for streaming Zoom or photography.
What do content creators need?
You can get started as a content creator with just a smartphone, website, and social media accounts. But over time, they need more things such as:
– Photo and video editing software
– Audio editing software like Descript
– Grammarly for editing written content
– A project management tool like Trello, Airtable, ClickUp, or Notion
– Email service provider
– SEO optimizer and keyword research tool
What is the best gift for a YouTuber?
Some of the best gift ideas for YouTubers include:
– Video and image editing software
– A high-quality camera
– A ring light
– Smartphone stand
– Software for live video streaming, such as Zoom, Streamyard, or something similar
– Keyword research tool for YouTube, such as KeySearch
– High-quality headphones
– A course on starting and growing a YouTube Channel
– A good webcam
What are the best items for content creation?
Content creation covers a broad range of content, but some of the best items to produce it include:
– A high-quality camera
– A good microphone
– A ring light with multiple color and brightness options
– Video and image editing software
– Audio editing software
– A web camera
