Do you want to know how to make money with WordPress in 48 hours?
I totally get it. Setting up a website and WordPress blog is a lot of hard work, and many people want to monetize them. After all, it’s a great marketing tool; why not make some money with it.
I know many of my freelancing peeps may not all want to be bloggers, but many of you do. So, monetizing the blog content you work so hard to create is a smart idea.
However, I want to be clear here. Making money with your WordPress blog is not as easy as some people would have you believe.
I know many people NEED to start making money as soon as possible, whether it’s a side hustle or a full-time job, but it takes a lot of work to make money online blogging.
So, I’m going to give you the best ways to earn money and some of them you can do in 48 hours. I’m not saying that it’s not possible to make money from your WordPress website in 48 hours because I’ve seen some pretty improbable things happen.
But, making money on the WordPress platform is more of a gradual thing that builds over time.
It’s just more challenging to make any amount of money when you’re starting a blog from scratch. The income beginner blogs make is not significant enough to make you rich.
In this post, I’m showing you how to make money with WordPress quickly and strategies you can use to grow your blog and business and say goodbye to your 9-5 forever.
What is WordPress?
So, maybe you’ve heard that you can make money with WordPress in 48 hours but you don’t exactly know what it is.
WordPress is a popular website platform and content management system that helps you build a successful business that makes money.
It allows you to manage your blog posts and other content easily and offers the ultimate scalable and flexible platform for your business. It’s an all-in-one solution that creates a solid foundation for any business.
There are two types of WordPress websites – self-hosted and hosted. You want to the self-hosted as it gives you maximum flexibility to monetize your blog without limitations. With a hosted site, WordPress has control over the amount of money you make from ads and they can host the ads they want on your site.
Free sounds great but you give away some of your control which is bad when it comes to how you can monetize your blog and WordPress website.
How Much Can We Earn Through WordPress?
Good question! I know if you’re slaving away at your day (or night) job, you dream of earning passive income so you can work fewer hours every week as Tim Ferriss teaches in The 4-Hour Work Week. I did too! That’s why I became a freelance writer.
You can make millions of dollars over time from your blog site. I can name people who already have made a million dollars, such as Ruth Soukup of Elite Blog Academy, Maria Forleo of the Copy Cure, and Amira Irfan of A Self Guru with her inexpensive, customizable legal templates.
To give you a time frame to aim for, some people have been able to make a steady $1,000 a month from their WordPress blog within six months, but this is not typical. How much money you make depends on many factors.
Many affiliate marketing experts will tell you that you need to create 50 optimized blog posts to start getting more organic traffic to your blog. This is when you’ll really see a difference in your income.
Then with 100 SEO optimized blog posts, the money you make will kick up another notch. The key is optimized. If your blog posts aren’t SEO-optimized, no one will be able to find you.
When you optimize your posts for SEO there is no limit to how many website visitors you can get. And WordPress is an amazing content management system.
So, while you can make money with WordPress in 48 hours, it usually takes longer than this.
How to Make Money with WordPress in 48 Hours
Now here’s where we get down to business. This blog post includes a quick step-by-step guide on setting your basic website up to make money with WordPress in 48 hours.
I’m going to show you how to set up your blog if you’re brand new, but if you already have a blog, figuring out how to make money with your WordPress website will be easier for you.
Setting up your blog and website the right way is critical as it’s the foundation of how you make money with your WordPress site and blog content.
Create Your Website
The first step is to create your website which you will need hosting to do. If you don’t have a website, you need to choose a web host right away to make money quickly.
Hosting
First, you need to build your WordPress website. To do this, you want to make sure you choose a self-hosted website, not one of the free ones that come with hosting.
Self-hosted WordPress websites allow you complete control over your website so you can customize it the way you want to. But more importantly, you can monetize your website with no restrictions, so you keep all the money you make.
When you’re trying to learn how to make money with WordPress in 48 hours, having complete control over how you earn money is big.
Hosted websites not only restrict how you customize your blog, they limit the ways you can make money, and in some cases, like with ads, they take a cut of the profit. Not cool at all!
So, if you choose a self-hosted website, of course, you need to find hosting, or your website won’t work. Here are three great places to get a hosting account:
Click here to learn more about Bluehost
Click here to learn more about SiteGround
Click here to learn more about Namehero
Bluehost is good for brand new bloggers, but you’ll likely eventually switch hosts after a while. It’s one of the least expensive.
SiteGround is the next step up as it’s faster, which is essential for search engine optimization. It’s a little more expensive than the other two.
Namehero is the best of both worlds. It claims to be faster (and that’s very likely as many people recommend this hosting now) than Bluehost and SiteGround. AND it’s less expensive. So, Namehero may be your best choice – you can learn more about Namehero here.
Many hosts like the three I mentioned above give you a free domain name which is nice. You just need to renew the domain name each year after that.
Once you choose a domain name, you can install WordPress and they make it very easy, They can even help you if installing WordPress freaks you out.
For me, it was worth learning how to use this website platform, and it totally is if you want to learn how to make money with WordPress in 48 hours.
Therefore, installing WordPress yourself is a really good idea. Trust me, it’s not as intimidating as it may seem.
Choose a Theme
After the first step of choosing web hosting, you need to choose a theme.
Themes are often hard for people to pick because there are so many to choose from. I have my first two picks. Either something that runs on the Genesis Framework or Astra.
The free version of Astra is very robust, and you can start with that. The pro version of Astra is even more awesome. Both are fast themes. Click here to check out Astra and you’ll see!
I will say that I was told Divi is the best theme if you want to build beautiful web pages and don’t know how to code. And it is! But it is a little clunky and will slow your site down, which is bad for user experience and SEO.
But you can learn more about Divi here because it is very easy to use.
Once you have all that set up, you can start building your website.
Create a Blog
Now you need to create a blog, and I know some people are groaning over that. But not just any blog, a WordPress blog.
If you want to learn how to make money with WordPress in 48 hours, your site has to be on this platform so that you can monetize your blog content without limitations.
Speaking from a freelancing standpoint, a blog is super important. It helps you showcase yourself as an expert, and if you’re a freelance writer, it is one more way to show potential clients your writing style and how well you write.
Most themes come with a blog page, so it’s just a matter of customizing it to your liking and writing your first blog articles.
Pro Tip – Make sure you choose a niche. I’m not picking on lifestyle blogs BUT, if you’re writing about recipes, parenting, travel, crafting, and everything under the sun, it’s hard for Google to figure out what your blog is about. Lifestyle blogs can be very successful, but you need to choose one niche to focus on.
Pick your niche, and then you can add two topics directly related to it. For instance, if you choose the parenting niche, you could talk about family, mom or dad life, and life as a stay-at-home parent.
If you need help, here’s a post on choosing your freelance writing or blogging niche. I also have a mini-course that is a step-by-step guide on how to find and validate a money-making niche so when you finish, you’ll know you have a money-making niche.
Choosing a niche helps you build an authority website so you can make more money over time, and the more you promote your blog, the more money you’ll make as an expert.
Pro Tip – If you don’t want to install WordPress yourself and set it up, my friends at Autumn Lane Paperie have pre-made options where all you have to do is add your text and colors. Check out Autumn Lane Paperie here to learn more about their pre-made and other website options.
They even take care of maintenance for you, and it is a genuine WordPress website; these options are just a shortcut! They have themes, too, so check them out.
Create Valuable Content that Helps People and Solves Problems
Now it’s time to create blog content!
You want to create content people want to share; in other words, your content needs to help people solve their problems because you need to be able to find keywords for your blog posts that you can actually rank for.
And then you can add affiliate products to your articles or write articles that are products to give your audience the solutions they need.
You want to learn all about SEO to do this the right way. There are plenty of free SEO resources and tools out there, but I didn’t really get the hang of SEO until I invested in Stupid Simple SEO and Debbie Gartner’s SEO eBooks.

SEO is very critical in learning how to drive traffic to your blog or website so you can make money with WordPress in 48 hours.
Once you write your awesome blog posts on your WordPress blog with these content writing tips, you can use SEO to optimize them to drive traffic to your blog.
Each blog post you write grows your authority and expertise and gives people visiting your site more articles to read.
There are several ways to get more traffic from search engines:
1. You can comment in forums or answer questions in them. Reddit and Quora are two of the most popular.
2. Guest posting – While writing amazing blog posts on your WordPress blog is great, guest posting is a great way to drive other people’s traffic back to your website and become more visible.
It also helps you build backlinks for SEO. When you guest post, you’re writing a free blog post for someone with a higher domain authority than you in exchange for a backlink to your website.
3. Paid advertising on Facebook, Pinterest, or other social media channel. I’ll talk more about it next because, unfortunately, SEO takes time, so it’s not quick traffic. That’s where social media comes in.
Each major social media platform has some type of paid advertising like Promoted Pins, Instagram or Facebook ads, etc.
You can drive traffic to your website with free or paid advertising while you wait for your blog SEO to kick in. It’s a better way to get quick traffic while your wait for your website and blog to grow.
And this also is a way to make money faster as a beginner. You can run Facebook ads for your digital products and services and even promote affiliate products.
Set Up Your Social Media Accounts
Social media is also a great way to drive traffic to your website until SEO kicks in.
Setting up your social media channels is next because you want to be able to share links to affiliate products, digital products, and services on social media. You create posts with affiliate links (just make sure you disclose that these links are affiliate and you will earn money if they buy through your link) and make money every time someone clicks your link and buys something.
I don’t recommend you start out trying to learn every channel. Pick one or two to focus on until you master them. But, you want to at least sign up for the main platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest so you can make sure your website name is available.
I waited too long to sign up for Twitter, and when I did, my blog name was gone. Don’t be like me.
Sharing an affiliate link on social media is a great way to get your followers to buy affiliate products from you, as affiliate marketing is probably the easiest way to make money as a new blogger. That’s one of several ways to learn how to make money with WordPress in 48 hours.
Social media is very effective in extending your reach and selling your digital products and services as well. It’s a great way to promote your blog posts and website.
So, taking time to learn the best practices of each platform helps, which is why it’s harder to make money from your website in just 48 hours.
One way to speed things up is to use advertising such as Facebook Ads or Promoted Pins. Many successful bloggers use ads to speed up their email marketing efforts to sell more products, so if someone seems to be growing faster than you, this could be why.
A lot goes into running ads, and I just dipped into Pinterest advertising at the beginning of 2021, and it’s a whole new world. You need to know what to do, so I advise you to take a course before you even think about running ads on your own.
*Note, that not all affiliates allow you to share your links on social media. Always learn the guidelines for promoting affiliate products on social media and know what you can and can’t do with the various programs you promote.
The Amazon Affiliate Program is one example of an affiliate platform that doesn’t allow this. You need to make sure you know the rules and regulations of all your affiliates, or you may find yourself in hot water and kicked out of a program.

Monetize Your Website
Now it’s time to monetize your website. I’m going to discuss five different ways you can learn how to make money with WordPress in 48 hours.
Pro Tip – The most successful blogs all have at least one of two things in common.
1. They use search engine optimization or SEO to get targeted traffic from search engines.
2. These blogs all have a variety of monetization strategies and not just one income stream.
Those two things are critical to remember. You want multiple income streams of different types so that if something happens to one, you have others coming in. If you only have one monetization method, you’re in for a difficult lesson should you lose it.
So, it’s important to create different income streams for your WordPress blog.
Now here are five ways to make money with your WordPress website. And all of these ways essentially fall under the general category of digital marketing.
Digital marketing is basically any marketing that occurs on the internet and it’s also known as online marketing.
1. Affiliate Marketing
We’ve touched briefly on affiliate marketing already, but many bloggers make a full-time income on affiliate marketing alone. It’s where you promote someone else’s product or service for a small commission if someone buys.
There are several ways to become an affiliate for a product. You can become an affiliate of the products and services you buy and use. These are my favorite affiliate partners because you never have to feel like a sleazy car salesman when you promote things you love.
You can also join a good quality affiliate program through affiliate marketplaces such as:
Flex Offers
Impact
CJ Affiliate
And there are many more affiliate programs out there. For more information, check out his awesome list of affiliate programs my friend Leanne of Passive Income Superstars created – Affiliate Program Master List
Affiliate marketing is one of my favorite blog monetization strategies because it provides so much versatility. Promoting affiliate products is a great way to start making money if you have a newer WordPress blog and don’t sell your own products and services.
Every time someone clicks your link and buys the product you’re promoting, you earn money!
Plus, how much money you make is different for every blogger. The sky is the limit! It’s a matter of finding more than one affiliate program that resonates with you that you can easily promote.
You don’t have to blog online for long before you figure out that it takes a lot of work long-term. Blogging in general isn’t usually a quick way to earn money, but the amount of money you can make each month is insane.
Once you sign up for an affiliate network and find links, it’s a matter of adding affiliate links to each blog post and then you start promoting them on social media to your target audience or sending them to your email list using email marketing. It doesn’t have to be a huge list to be successful as much as an active email list.
If you’re just starting a WordPress website, this is how you can start making money in two days. You won’t have a massive amount of affiliate income within 48 hours, but it’s a start. Keep in mind you may not make any money at all because this is a really short timeframe to make money in.
Over time, you can drill down on the right profitable affiliate marketing method for you, and find more affiliate programs and affiliate products to promote.
This will allow you to generate income with your optimized content and soon you’ll find yourself making a full-time income long term.
Affiliate marketing is the quickest way to make money as a newbie.
2. Sell Digital Products and Courses
This monetization method is my favorite one. Like writing your first blog posts, once you create a course or digital product, it’s done except for minor updates. It’s easier to create courses and things to sell than you think.
But it does take knowing your target audience well. You want to create things that make their life easier and solve their problems. You can start small with printables like a weekly or monthly schedule/task printable.
Do you know a lot about a topic like budgeting? You could create budgeting spreadsheets and monthly budget printables. Maybe you can teach a personal finance budget course or one for business.
The sky is the limit! The course platform Teachable says they have all types of classes on their platform in some pretty crazy niches. I know people that teach courses on raising goats and other homestead topics.
You could even sell physical products like coffee mugs, t-shirts, or sweatshirts.
The magic really comes in when you use email marketing to sell your products, services, and courses to your email list. *BOOM* Now you’re making money regularly.
Learn more about how to sell courses on Teachable here.
Pro-Tip – You can promote an affiliate product or many of them in your courses and products. For instance, I teach an SEO content writing course where I include links for various affiliate products related to SEO to help people learn beyond what I teach them.
3. Display Advertising
Display advertising is another way many bloggers make money online. There are several ad networks out there, with the most popular being Mediavine, Google AdSense, Media.net, and AdThrive.
You need a lot of traffic to get into Mediavine and AdThrive, though. Google AdSense is the perfect one for beginners, but just beware that the ads can be annoying. Plus, you’re not going to get rich with these ads.
Ezoic is an alternative, and they even have a way to make sure your website still runs fast because ads can slow it down.
At least apply with AdSense because platforms like Ezoic require it. But you won’t make a lot until you get more traffic to your authority website.
These platforms show ads that match your content and visitors, and you make money by views, and AdSense pays you for clicks on these ads.
Personally, it’s better to wait until you qualify for the bigger ad networks, but if you can’t AdSense is the way to go.
Display ads are one of the best ways of making money with WordPress
4. Offer Coaching and Consultations
If you have expertise in a specific niche, then you can offer coaching or consulting services. This monetization strategy is not a passive one, though, so you trade time for money, but you will be making money with WordPress if you decide to coach newbies.
The more you can charge, the less you have to work. I know of a blogger that was a project manager at her corporate job and now she consults with other businesses on project management.
Another blogger I work for is an attorney, and she offers business and legal coaching for entrepreneurs. And selling coaching works really well with email marketing too.
Like SEO you want to start growing an email list as soon as possible as email marketing is one of the best ways to use WordPress if you need to make money quickly. You could have a flash sale and generate a substantial amount of money in just two days.
5. Offer Services
Offering services is one of the easiest ways to learn how to make money with WordPress in 48 hours. I started offering services before I fell in love with blogging. Writing articles is a great way to make money, and freelance writing is one of the easiest services someone can offer.
Services are different than coaching. With services, you are actually doing a job for someone like writing blog posts. With coaching, you become a mentor and help someone learn something like affiliate marketing or blogging.
Now, I’m very vocal about why freelance writers need to pick a profitable niche so they can establish themselves as an expert and make more money online.
Once you choose a niche you can write articles for businesses in your industry that need help crafting engaging content. When you create blog content for businesses that can afford to pay you well, you can scale your income faster.
But since you want me to help you make money in two days, I’m going to recommend something I usually wouldn’t, and that’s finding work at content mills like Upwork or Fiverr.
I understand that sometimes making money at a site like Upwork is better than no money at all. And I know this because I found my first writing job at Upwork.
So, sign up for those websites and offer ghostwriting or freelance blogging services. Just beware, I know Upwork takes 20 percent of what you make, and Fiverr takes a cut too. But you can make money there quicker.
One note of these ways you can use WordPress to make money. How fast you earn money depends on how quickly advertising platforms like Google or affiliate programs approve you.
FAQs
Do free WordPress blogs make money?
Yes, you can use Wordmoney selling affiliate products or sell products, courses, and services, but WordPress.com places ads on the free blogs, and you have no control over them. You can upgrade to have them taken off, but that defeats the purpose of a free website.
You can also do sponsored posts and join an advertising program called WordAds too. However, you must generate traffic and have the right content for WordAds. And there are also restrictions on the types of affiliate links you can put in your content.
That’s why a self-hosted WordPress site is much better.
How can I make $800 fast?
It depends on what fast means to you, but you can:
- Take surveys online
- Do freelance work online
- Teach people how to speak English
- Start a Blog
- Test apps
- Become a dog walker
- Donate plasma
- Get a part-time job
- Sell things you don’t need on Facebook
- Participate in market research programs
How do beginner bloggers make money?
The best way for beginner bloggers to make money is through affiliate marketing. There are some affiliate platforms and programs that let new bloggers join and there are plenty of affiliate products you can promote.
You can also place ads on your website with a platform like Google AdSense so that you get a small percentage when someone clicks on an ad.
And now you have some ways to solve the problem of how to make money with WordPress in 48 hours. Making consistent money online takes time and patience, but WordPress builds sustainable income over time.
But it is possible to make money fast, and now you have the tips and shortcuts to do it. Making money involves selling your own courses and products, getting money from display ads, or affiliate marketing.
You can buy a pre-made website to get up and running faster and skip a lot of headaches. Then sign up for some affiliate programs like the Amazon Affiliate program or ShareASale. To increase your odds of making money sign up at Upwork or Fiverr and offer a service.
Then you can work your way up to creating a digital product or signing up for display advertising so you can generate consistent income every month.
Starting an online freelance business or blog is easier than ever before, but it takes hard work and a bit of time before you even make a part-time income. Create great content that helps solve your audiences’ problems, and you’ll be a success!
